DIRECTIONS TO THE VENUE
The Fiddler's Green Concert Series is held in the Garden Hills
Community
Center located at 307 Pinetree Drive in Buckhead, a few miles north of
downtown Atlanta. Our flyer contains a map showing the exact location and
nearby thoroughfares such as Peachtree Road, Piedmont, Lindbergh and East
Wesley. We place a large white sandwich board style Fiddler's Green sign at
the end of the driveway leading to the community center the evening of our
shows; patrons should park in the street and walk up.
A. From I-75 North (Marietta/Chattanooga/Nashville)
Take I-75 south into the Atlanta metro area. Stay on I-75 a
couple exits past
the I-285 perimeter loop. Take the West Paces Ferry exit, and stay in the
left lane of the exit ramp. At the bottom of the ramp, turn left on West
Paces Ferry and continue straight once you pass back under I-75. Stay on West
Paces Ferry for several miles through some very nice residential
neighborhoods (you may notice the Governor's Mansion on your left during this
stretch). When you emerge back into a commercial area (Buckhead), you will
be
taking a right on Peachtree Road at the first major intersection you come
to.
Get in the left lane, and continue south on Peachtree for a
short distance
(several blocks). Turn left onto Rumson Road; there's a pizza joint on the
left with an old fashioned Coca-Cola sign mounted on a pole right at the
street corner.
Continue dead straight for a couple of long blocks, follow the
sharp curve to
the right, and turn left onto Pinetree at the stop sign. The driveway leading
to the Garden Hills Recreation Center will be the first driveway on your
right, just after you go over a small bridge over a creek.
B. From I-85 North (Gwinnett, Greenville, SC and Charlotte, NC)
Take I-85 south several miles past the "spaghetti junction"
where you go
under perimeter highway I-285. Take the Lenox Road exit, which is a diamond
type ramp ending at a traffic light. Turn right on Lenox, and then
immediately cross over to the left turn lane and turn left on Buford Highway.
This time cross immediately over to the right turn lane, and turn right onto
Sidney Marcus. Go straight under Highway 400 and follow the directions in
section C (after the first sentence).
C. From GA Highway 400 (north central suburbs)
Take 400 south to Exit 1 and turn right on Sidney Marcus. Go
through a couple
of lights, and turn right on Piedmont Road. Get in the left lane. Pass under
a concrete MARTA overpass, and turn left at the next traffic light onto East
Wesley (it's just past a furniture refinishing place on your left; there is
no left turn lane, but the light gives you a leading turn arrow if you sit
through a red).
East Wesley curves sharply left, then proceed straight through
a four way
stop. Take the next right onto Pinetree Drive, and proceed 4-5 long blocks.
The driveway to Garden Hills will be on your left at the bottom of a long,
gradual hill.
D. From I-20 East or West, I-75 South, I-85 South
From I-20, get on "The I-75/85 Downtown Connector"
northbound where I-75 and
I-85 are combined through downtown (if you're coming north on either I-75
or
I-85, just stay on them past I-20). Just past downtown and after big curves
to the left and then the right, you'll pass Georgia Tech and the Georgia
State dorms (the athlete's village during the Olympics) on the left, and the
combined 75/85 splits up again. You want to be in the left lanes and take
I-85 north. After the split, take the first exit on the right, which is a
long exit ramp serving the Monroe Drive, Piedmont Road and Lenox Road/Buford
Highway exits. Get in the left lane and follow the signs towards Lenox Road,
but turn left at the light immediately under the big overpass (this is before
you get to Lenox Road) onto Sidney Marcus. Continue straight on Sidney Marcus
under Highway 400 and follow the directions in Section C (after the first
sentence).
